Festival 2027
Machines Create Freedom / Networks Create Language / Bodies Create Memory.
The three nights
Chapters
Three nights as chapters across San Francisco — each room a sentence in the arc.
Machines create freedom. Night one opens on the machine floor — drum machines as instruments, code as composition, the DJ as composer. At Monarch, the festival begins where the lineage begins: raw signal, hard edges, Black electronic invention taught through sound.

Networks create language. Night two opens the system — transmission, conversation, the rooms that hold a community’s vocabulary. At 620 Jones, where Ruben Navarro’s documentation already maps the tradition, Black code travels as shared language across the floor.

Why this festival
Documented tradition, not a first attempt
Rhythm of Resilience corrects the persistent underrecognition of Black electronic composition — presenting it with concert-series rigor, never as nightlife commodity.
The DJ is a composer. The drum machine is an instrument. The dance floor is a listening room. Festival 2027 is that thesis at festival scale: three nights, three San Francisco venues, thirty-five artists — a Juneteenth celebration built on two decades of nights already held.
Juneteenth 2025 → 2026 → 2027. Founded 2002 · 30+ events. The archive is the proof.
Cultural steward — never a vendor or event company.
Access & community
The door stays open
Equity is programmed into the night — not added as an afterthought.
Youth scholarship
Free tickets for Black youth 18–25

Pay what you can within the scale. Access over gatekeeping — the floor is a listening room for everyone who shows up ready to hear.
